Aaruthal is a local Non-Governmental Organization formed in April 2006 and it was registered with Registrar of Companies – Sri Lanka (Reg. No. N(A)1493 ) , in April, 2006.

Vision

Enhanced healthy community with balanced personality to face challenges Strategic Objectives

• Identifying children, teachers and adults suffering from psychological issues, learning difficulties and helping them through appropriate therapies and remedied activities.

• Training the solacers, village leaders and others in the community, about psychological issues, child rights and health, values, peace, disaster management and employing suitable actions to improve the situation.

• Identifying children/adults and families suffering due to alcoholism, poverty, domestic violence, and other social problems, and helping to reduce them by employing suitable means. Identifying children/adults who are physically and sexually abused and employing suitable action to save them from further abuse and rehabilitate them.

• Carrying out research on pressing psychosocial issues of the community, children’s learning difficulties and problems and employing suitable actions to improve the situation.

• Building up a network among regional, national and international organizations and liaising with them to share experiences and to obtain assistance in order to provide efficient service to the affected persons in the community.

• Organizing social groups in the community, strengthening the civic and social infrastructure in the affected areas and promote good governance and human security with due consideration of cultural sensitivity, social inclusion, community ownership and gender balance.

• Helping individuals and the families in livelihood development.

• Conducting Training Programmes.
